Kinder, gentler

I think I am finding I like Wordpress better. Of course, there are some things about blogger I still like more, but the pros lean to wordpress, at least for me. I still haven't figured how to import this blog over there, but it doesn't matter, I am still going to leave this account active.

I also want my place to be a bit kinder and gentler. Not that I am, but I've had to admit that lately one of the medications I am taking for my RA has made me very moody and even mean. I have been very careful about things I say to family and friends and very careful in my comments to others I have left on my blogs and theirs. I can feel the difference so I take steps to make cautious moves.

Don't worry though, I won't stop making fun of 80's chicks.

It had to be the hair...

I have been very good. I made a promise back in October to try and be nicer to stupid religious people who try and sell me their religion, and I have. I suppose it is a good thing that I didn't make that promise about women my age stuck in the 80's.

This morning I stopped at a local gas station on the way to work to pick up a coffee (crappy, but still better than the shit we have here at work.) I get my coffee and walk up to the counter. Ahead of me is a woman about my age. Not horrible looking. She is wearing a red spandex miniskirt, leggings and flats. She is also wearing a button up shirt with shoulder pads, tank top under it and the big belt wrapped around the shirt. Then there was the hair and make up. She had bushy eye brows and a CLAW! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, she stood about 5'4" tall and about 5'8" with the bangs. The rest of her hair was permed and teased to death.

I couldn't stop myself. Before I truly could grasp the situation I blurted out, "on your way home from an 80's theme party eh?" Pause,pause. "NO!" was the pissed off response I got. "Oh, huh, wow!" Was all I could give back.

Sigh...I should have felt bad. But no, I didn't.

Ethics

Every week in the local Salt Lake Tribune in the Friday paper there is a section called Faith. In this section every week there is a column called Everyday Ethics written by Randy Cohen. It is a syndicated advice column on ethics.

For a while I was frustrated that they put this column in the "Faith" section of the paper. As if the "religious types" have the corner on ethics. But then I realized, it must be there because they need more ethics training than us secular types.

I AM GOING TO BE MOVING

I have been thinking about trying my hand at a Wordpress blog for a bit. I would like to see the differences and if I like it or not. I am in the midst of setting it up and I think it will replace this blog... at least for a while to see if I like my new home.

I will create a link soon.
